How do I polarize my newly rebuilt generator? I was told you put a jumper cable on the regulator  or cutout. Not really sure though.?

On the voltage regulator, take a length of wire (or I've used pliers or a big flathead screwdriver) and jump the "BAT" and "ARM" terminals, just so they spark. Sometimes regulators will be labeled "GEN" instead of "ARM", but it's the same thing.
