So I'm trying to assess the health of my hydraulic pump. When I disconnect one cylinder and hook up a gauge, the gauge hits a 3000-3200 psi transient when the rockshaft hits its stop, then drops to 2500 psi....I'm guessing that is where the unloading valve is currently set. Then it slowly drifts down to 1500 where it stabilizes. I'm thinking that might be the dripping from the gauge threads.

Any thoughts on this state of affairs?

Thanks all,
Rob

Sounds like a system that would be working and functioning just fine and would never have had a gauge connected to it because of that. 3400 psi is max setting. Anything over 3,000 I consider very normal.  They don't build 3000 or 3400psi  and maintain that pressure.
