He said he has about $8,500 into and it runs. I'm not sure about the value of it. Out of my price range I'm sure.

he has about $5,000 over its best value in that figure - and even there with that extra on the blade - even less .
Now that's just my idea - without knowing the condition of track and sprockets which are next to impossible to find now if needed I would be low balling it for around $2,000

Current 'Clean' steel scrap price here is $170/ton, intact machine $140/ton.

Clean: 3'x2' and/or less than 100# per piece.

Us bulldozer people are really cheap. The price is what you can get it for. There is a huge difference between scrap and a working machine. Look it over and ask yourself what it is worth to you. Talk to the seller with cash in hand.

I'd pay $2-3,000 for it but I literally have nowhere to store it, and no justification good enough to pass by the misses to get it. Too bad...

To nice a dozer to scrap, to old for a major construction company to use, to heavy to tow behind a 1/2 ton pickup... and load on an average car trailer...
and all that goes back to will he take a loss in selling it for the most he can get to somebody or take the loss at the scrap yard. so sad for the seller and his pocket book.Cry   As everyone knows, buying old crawlers and fixing them up with new or used parts can make them a money pit that you won't get back out of them when selling it.Dead

Humm? This dozer and location looks very familiar. I think it may be very near me, based on the town name and the map!
I have seen one similar to this in my travels. Yea I dont think I would pay $2000 for it. Just my opinion. I currently have a red money pit. Not sure I need a yellow one too?:)
It may be a good working machine?? You just never know on this old stuff. And moving them is not easy, or cheap, if you dont have the truck and trailer.

 Chris

Looks like a HD6 to me. $2500-$3500. If it is a 6- 20000 + lbs

I'd hate to have you guys appraise my stuff. Just that rake on the front is worth $700 to $1000 if you needed one. I think $4,500 would be fair.

Link above wasnt working today.
I think I drove past this machine today. But I did not get out and look. Its tucked behind some buildings. Maybe just a similar one???

 Chris
