I am trying to get my old 1954 WD45 back "on the road".  The book says SAE 80 wt.  Does that mean hydraulic oil?  Is there a "modern" replacement for a 56 year old line in the manual?
    How about transmission fluid?
    Thanks.

Use 80W90 gear lube.

What John said is correct. However, I've been real tempted to experiment with ATF. I think it would work better in the winter, but I'm just not sure about the seals
