I just got my D10 seat back from the upholsters. They done a good job, it looks nice and all and I do like it alright. I'm just a little dissatisfied with the design being wrong. The back rest is supposed to be notched leaving the slot in the back of the pan open. I explained that to him and even showed him pictures, but I guess it was easier to build like he did it. I went a head and accepted it because I knew there wasn't time to redo it, so this will be the seat on the tractor at the GOTO in two weeks. Anyway, I already paid for it, so I got to live with it or eat it. Maybe I'm being to picky. This is not an original tractor anymore, and I'd say most people won't know it's not correct. It just bothers me a little, maybe it will pass. Would y'all have this seat on your D-series?

Much rather have it than the seat that was on my D15 when I bought it. Yours looks good. Mine has too much "overhang" when I am sitting on it, and it gets uncomfortable when I spend several hours mowing pasture. ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |

A lot of vendors here can get the correct seat cushions that bolt right on to the seat pan and look perfect. | I never heard of Norm Meinert, but I was aware of others that sell those cushions. You can even buy the entire seat if you want. I considered buying one, because my pan was in really bad shape. It had holes rusted through all over. It took a lot of welding and grinding, but I managed to save it. I prefer to repair or rebuild rather than replace. I thought I would like having the seat made better than the after market cushions. This man has done a lot of work for us in the past. He built the cushion for my B, and he reupholstered a couch and three chairs. We've been well satisfied with everything else. I guess I'll just have to say my seat is unique. I saved a little money as well, $105 for that job. I think the back rest alone is more than that, plus there would shipping involved. Thanks for everyone's input, Ranse |

| a lotta the aftermarket ones use a plywood base. Problem I have with them, is that the tee nuts, in the plywood, are never in the right place, so you hafta drill the holes in the seat frame bigger, then use a washer, to cover up the mistake someone else made... |

I have yet to see a reproduction seat pan that is correct. They are not formed around the cutout in the back upright, or around the front for the legs. I can live with the bottom plate being welded like they are. Doesn't matter to most, and saves money. That is the way most parts are.
