with plastic seed plates.  Can't post a picture.  Needs new white plastic seed hopper. Steel Fert hopper is shot.  Large black solid rubber single rib packer wheel.
Want to use planter to sow Peas Southern (Cow Peas)  Where do I find Model Number to order a Owners manual.
One heavy bugger     Could it be a 78 ?

the newer fiberglass hoppers fit right on the bases of those that used to be plastic. I've changed about all mine over already.

I saved a few bucks by building a seed hopper out of a 5 gal plastic paint bucket, Now I would like a seed plate that would drop black eyed peas a little closer together. 4 instead of 6 inches likes coming from the orange plate .
I'm going to need the metal door that closes up the bottom of the seed hopper. One pivot ear is broke off.  Can this cast metal be welded?

Best I can do is describe it. It's a cast iron ring like affair with a hinge pin on the front edge going thru 2 ears. A catch on the back edge held in place by a large cotter pin. The catch tightens up in the base with a wing nut.  There is also a lever catch that keeps the door shut when you lift the seed hopper off the planter. To change the seed plates you must open the door to get the old seed plate out and a new one in.
I need a good useable door since mine has a pivot pin hinge ear broke off. I may be able to get it welded because  I have the piece.
Anyone have a used door to sell.  My original looks like it was never painted and is rusty.
I sowed 5 -  250' pea rows this morning.   With a warm shower I should have a stand of Purplehulls in a week

i'll see if I have an extra, also I took the new style seed boxes like off the air planters and ground the rivits off the old plastic boxes, then bolted the fiberglass ones on the base. have to be real careful when grinding the rivits off the fiberglass boxes too.

There are 2 1 row AC planters on ebay right now.  The one I got for nothin looks mostly like the one for $685  but the packer wheel looks like tire on the one for $250.
I have been playing with it for seed spacing and planting debth.   I planted 6 250' rows of Mississippi Pinkeyes.with 2lbs 2oz of seed. Just need a shower of warm rain to see what kind of stand I'm gettin.  My Mothers plastic Car Wash  Bucket made a perfect seed hopper real cheap.
This AC one row planter is going to save me miles of pushin by hand a Plantet Jr seeder like my Daddy did all his life.

Before planting peas I made a dry run with deer corn. Dropped a kernel every 6 inches. Peas being smaller often dropped 2 once in a while. That's OK. I like the way the little seed  knocker works.
