What would you fellas put on this for a value? 6' no extensions. Top adjustment wheel spins freely. One of the rear adjustment screws is rusted solid and the other on turns hard. Seller is firm on his price of $500. Kinda wondering if it's worth it with that amount of rust on the blade. Although they kinda scarce around this part of the country. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself to pull the trigger. It's 200 mile round trip to get it.

That is a little higher than they usually sell for in our area. Usually $300-$350. If they are scarce where you are at, the price is probably about right.

$300-350 was more what I was thinking for price.

Oh boy I know where that one is !!!
Don’t worry I won’t tell. I’m 40 mi closer too!
Truth be told I almost swung down there and bought it but opted for a 3pt conversion instead.
I’d flash $400 at them and see what they said.

How bad do you want it ? What are your other options ? Can he sell to someone else for that price ?

I saw one on auction not to long ago bring $300 in this area. Price has dropped on the blades. Looks like a few more issues on the blade pictured.

I would pay that, and drive that far to get it! There isn't much orange SC equipment around here!

If I wanted it I'd be there with $500 and attempt to chisel him down a few bucks just to make me think I got a deal. But I don't have any need for one and I ain't paying anything for it to sit in my tree row. That rust on the blade is nothing it'll scourge off as soon as you use it.

It's all up to you...200 miles is probably a 5hr trip and lotsa gas, truth be told I've spent $500 for a blade, but also got a 3 furrow plow and a D-14 thrown in. NOT bragging, just saying that 'value' is what both the seller and buyer have to agree upon. If SC blades are rare and the seller knows it, he's going to be firm on the 500.Also wil he hold it for you and can be trusted ? I sure wouldn't waste 5 hrs of my life to find out he's sold it '1/2hr ago, sorry' It's pretty easy to make an adapter to convert 3pt implements to Snap Coupler. Takes $50 in oddball steel and 2-3 hrs, less if you've got a stock of steel and more muscles than me ! Jay

I think Jim Roney's auction SC blade stopped short of $400, and that one had extensions.
I seen the blade in person too. It was there at Thanksgiving time.

I was there in person yesterday. Said they only had $25 wiggle room. It's on a dealer lot, so I know they didn't pay that much for it. Gave me the story that it's from Dad's personal collection but couldn't tell me what tractor it fit, so I call BS. I have their site bookmarked and check it regularly. That pic was taken last fall, so another winter of rust. It was sitting in mud yesterday.

I've seen several sell at auction in central Ia. in recent times. Usually bring around that. Once in a while you can get a bargain. For as sturdy and well built as they are I'm surprised they don't bring a lot more.

I don't think that's terribly far out of line. I would try to whittle em down, if ya could. But if they don't wiggle and you want it,....well maybe you should go for it. As far as the 200 mile trip goes; when I get it in situations like that, I call it a mini family vacation. Darrel

How bad do you want it? And long are you willing to wait for another one to come a long that's cheaper?

If there are no welds anywhere on it and the adjusters can be freed up, he is not too far off the mark. As mentioned above, who knows when another one will come up and how much will that one be?

About have myself talked into it. Just wish it had an extension or 2 for that price. How does the cutting edge work with extensions?

Almost all extensions that I've seen at auctions had a matching piece of cutting edge bolted to them. My 2 18" blade extensions came with and still have 1"+ more edge than the 6' main blade, I think it works good as it lets rock & dirt go under and stays in middle of driveway. The little snow left doesn't bother the car or pickup!!

Bit the bullet today. Got it for $450. Needs a couple bolts tightened or replaced. Haven't found any cracks or welds yet. Cutting edge is just about down to the frog on one side. Haven't pulled a tape measure across it yet, but, just from looking, looks like same as a road grader cutting edge. If that's the case I may get an 8' edge and make 1' extensions to fit.
