I have a 1950 wd that at first would start missing and backfiring when it warmed up. It has got to the point that it will not start at all. The coppression on the cylinders are 90,80,80,90. When you try to start it it won't fire and when you stop fuel dumps out the carb like it is pulling it out of the carb but not to the cylinders. The plugs are dry. I just replaced the intake manifold after finding it was leaking around the ports and finding made in China on the back. I replaced it with a good original and made sure it was sealed. No change. Is the compression to low to pull fuel into the cylinders?

I have a 50 WD, all stock, it has had a valve job years ago, compression about like yours, it always starts, still runs pretty good, yours should have a mag, I would guess that could be your problem.
