I know folks here are real passionate about their paint so please don't beat me up too bad. Just thought I'd share a positive product review with you. I ordered some paint for touch ups. I ordered it through All States AG Parts. Got the six cans for $29.90 + shipping. I received my order, Van Sickle Super Premium Gloss AC Persian Orange #1 477 70. Never used this product before and used it to touch up the drawbar on the WC. Gave the bar a quick sanding, wiped it down, and applied the paint. Went on good. Easy to apply and covered well. No runs or surprises. Goes on a little dark but seems to lighten up a bit as it cured. So I'm happy with it.  If it looks like there is orange peal on the painted part, nope, that's just good old fashioned pitting. Brad |

Thank you for posting this! I'm getting ready to touch up my 'B' and I was looking for a good rattle can product. ------------- 1939 Allis-Chalmers "B" restored in 2010- very good condition. |

| Ace Hardware has Allis Chalmers orange implement paint. I think it is made by Rustoleum, dose anyone know the quality of the paint and how close it comes to Persian orange #1. |

| My local hardware store sells that Van Sickle paint, but they only have Persian Orange #2 and Corporate Orange. Would be handy to have, though, for touch ups. |

It may cause people on here to disown me but I've been using this same paint on my tractor. I've actually had pretty decent results with it. My father-in-law had pretty good results with my hood so far. He's a better painter than me though, he worked in a paint booth at a local factory for a while. Maybe it's not as nice or as durable but I'm just trying to make my machine look presentable. It'll probably be a 100 foot tractor. It'll look pretty good from 100 feet away LOL. About five dollars a can seems to be the going rate for it. I personally get along better with rust-o-lium farm equipment paint. I've had very good results with that. I think I read on here somewhere that the Rust-o-lium tends to fade. Maybe I'mn mistaken though. Plus I don't like the idea of switching brands partway through in case it doesn't match well. I have Some Rustoleum Persian Orange paint that matches PO2 exactly. Maybe it was just me, but I got some Van Sickle cans once and hated it. It was almost like spraying water. It would just run off. Maybe I didn't prep well enough before my touch up.

Have had good luck with Van Sickle Tractor/Implement paint....even the off-brand colors. Clean surfaces are a must. Preferably wiped down with acetone or lacquer thinner. When using Van Sickle spray paint; 1 must be warm, and 2 must be shaken vigorously to mix. 3 allow sufficient drying time....at least a day, more if you can stand it. |

I agree with both of the previous comments. I have had instances where the paint seemed very thin, made it very hard not to get runs. Also, it seems like it takes forever to actually get dry enough to do anything with. Of course, I'm not a great painter so operator error could have been a factor. I prefer the rust-o-lium, but I can't seem to find it in PO 1 when I need it, just a generic Allis Chalmers orange. Not sure what that might come out as. Later, Brad ------------- Warning! I've also used TSC's Magic brand AC orange paint. They look exactly the same to me, although I don't know what version of AC paint they are supposed to resemble. It could be Persian orange for all I know, but it looks to dark to me. I've never heard of this Van Sickle brand. They must not sell it around here. I've bought rattle can paint form auto parts stores that cost over $10 a can. In my opinion they aren't any better than Rust-Oleum. Rust-Oleum is the best rattle can paint that I've used, but I'm not really bragging on it. It will all fade, and will easily be scuffed off. |

| I used some Van Sickle PO#1 on a couple of parts for my wd45 several years ago. I found it a Orscheln Farm and Home. It sprayed thick, took awhile to dry, but has worn well. The downside is that over the years it has turned brown. I prefer the PO#1 from AGCO it matches pretty well. |
