Tractor Supply Co is selling out all Fram filters to go with another brand. I just bought Fram C159 oil filters for $1.39 ea. These are the real fiber packed filters we desire for old Allis-Chalmers. Can't beat the price.

They show $9.99 on our store website, so the clearance price must just be an "in-store" thing?

Our TSC still has them for $13.99. Surprised the heck out of me, but our Farm & Fleet store have NO Fram oil filters of ANY kind listed on their site. I know they have em, but you can't find em online. A Fleet Farm over in Winona, MN has them listed for $8.95. I guess I need to go over to MN to do my shopping... As a side note, their gas price is about $0.10 less too, so I can fill up while I'm there.

As I said before, I would be going by a couple of Tractor Supply stores yesterday. Found the Fram filters with clearance prices. C-159 were $5.49. They had two so I took them to the register. Young lady scanned them and asked I had seen the price. I said $5.49. She called an "associate" to verify and they were $5.49. Fine. Still a big discount.
So, later in the day on our way out of state, I stopped at another TS to check. Had a time finding them and an employee was pulling all the Frams off the shelf into a shopping cart. I saw a C-159 and asked if it was available and what theprice was. He scanned it, said it was $1.39 and somewhere there was a second filter. We found it and i took both to the register. Young lady scanned it and, again, screen asked for the price. So she called to an "associate" and he said zero point 50 ($.50) each. She rang up $1.06 with tax for both. I paid and asked for the receipt and told her one would believe me without it. Went back to the car and told my wife we needed to buy a lottery ticket.
I passed five or six TS stores on a different route home today but resisted stopping. My wife asks why? Well, I have about 8 new T-300 filters in a box in the shop, now four more Frams to add. Might not live long enough to use what I have.

I just bought a Carquest CFI 84011 today at the parts place I use most, list price is $44.99!, my price 11.45. I believe they are Baldwin filters. They don't have the stick in the middle anymore either. The parts place used to be more independent but had to go with a auto parts supplier as their old supplier went out of business. They were a Wix dealer and the price was around $6, but that was a few years ago. Also got a 16" wiper blade, list price $22.39, my price 10.31, mid grade quality, I was told. Can't just buy the rubber replacement blade anymore, have to get the whole blade attachment.

I was on the TS website a couple of evenings ago. When doing a search for Fram C159, several local stores came up and you could see if they had this filter in stock. Several did. This might save some driving store to store and coming up dry. Of the four I bought, on the box of two of them, it said "hydraulic filters" . The other two said "oil filters". But all filters appear identical and have just C159 on the canister. I assume they are the same. Bob@allisdowneast

Our farm store had just the hydraulic filters also. They did look the same but were kinda pricey. After some checking it states that the hydraulic filters have a finer medium and will filter smaller particles thus maybe clogging the filter faster. Not an expert on this by any means and I am sure someone will set it straight for us.

I just got an email from TSC HQ and they'll sell me the Fram C159 for $5.99 each. I'll have to work out the exchange on the Canuck buck, but up here they're $18+13% so I may invest in a few(10-20) filters.

Thank you, Phil, for starting this thread! I went to the Tractor Supply Co store in Council Bluffs yesterday. I found their remaining Fram filters in a couple grocery carts for 10 cents each, and yes, they had 2 of the C159 filters! I left the store with 2 filters for my WD and WD45, having paid 21 cents, including tax!!!!
Thank you for this topic. This forum is great!

I went to the Fram website and called technical support. A very helpful gentleman answered and, when I asked him if there is a difference between the C-159 oil filter and the C-159 hydraulic filter (look the same but the box is labeled differently) he said basically that they are interchangeable. Terry, I thought that I had won the best price contest. You beat me by $.425 per filter. Congrats. Bob@allisdowneast.

does anyone have a book of the numbers and what they fit, I tried on line and I got re-directed about 20 times, and never did find any list. our TSC has them all for 1.00 each, think i'll just go buy them all and maybe gits lucky on a few of them!

Instead of looking up what they fit, I'd look up all your vehicles/tractors and see what the Fram number is. Take that list to TSC and stock up if they have any!

Stopped at two tsc stores while I was out and about today.found three of these filters at one store and two at another, all for 1.39 each.online price was showing 13.99 each,so they weren't showing the clearance price on line. Thanks for the heads up Phil.looking at the box it seems that fram doesen't make the c159 filters.says on the box manufactured FOR fram group operations.the date code is the same eleven digit code system that baldwin and hastings uses.baldwin bought hastings out back in 1995, so essentially they are the same filter with different name. maybe the c159s are made by baldwin plant or hastings plant??? http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/pdfs/DateCodeMethods.pdf" rel="nofollow - baldwin date code methods

You guys must have slow shoppers, LOL All those cheap Frams were cleaned out of our TSC stores 2 months ago except the ones that only fit a 1946 Edsel with V-9 engine. Now TSC has Purolators,,, at 30% higher cost than Advance Auto parts next door.
