Hi guys, I have a 621 forkluft with the 160 gas engine that has coolant in the oil. We took the head off and had a machine shop ccheck it, checked out good. Head gasket looked good. There was coolant in number 2 and 3 cyls. I' curious if a guy could swap a diesel in without too much trouble, and if so which one would be the best to consider? I'm interested to hear what you guys think. Thanks in advance

Anything is 'possible' though IF you go diesel be sure it's a GOOD engine ! I was quoted 5,000 Canucks to have the Buda BD153 rebuilt ONCE I got it to the repair shop.
I considered going to gas but 'details' like need gas tank and fuel pump, wiring, etc. come into play...then there's 'step two' of the swap... remove 4000# counter balance from forklift....sigh...

Son just had a chance to pick up 20 fork trucks from place in Mpls - older units with little or no resale - few have had mast stripped and such -  outfit sold or gave away over 75 trucks in last year or so to another employee that had room and ability to make a small salvage yard operation - he says he is full now and can't take more units .
So now have to Yale fork trucks somewhere here and 2 counterweights laying out by drive as they had to come off to load the units onto trailer
( Seems I mumbled something like when you get your own place you can collect all the junk you want ) somehow I wonder if that was heard

Recommend pulling the block - might be time for an overhaul.  Pull oil pan and check for leakage between the liner and O'Rings that seal the liner to the block.
