Should the semi-circular shield be installed on the front side of a Gleaner F/F2/F3 thresher beater in corn? This is right behind the cylinder. What does it do? Keep the Thresher beater from getting torn up by cobs?

Thank you,
Peter

It should be on there for all crops. Keeps grain from following beater around. MACK
