More 6060 Clutch Woes. After getting the new clutch in, everything buttoned up, set clutch play per manual, started it up and the clutch will not disengage. You can feel the pedal press the fingers in but that is it. I can start it in gear and the tractor moves and I can't stop it. We tried the pedal adjustment each way but it did not help it.
Installed I measured the clutch fingers and they were right at the 4.8" per the manual (If I remember the dim right)
Any ideas why it will not release? Put it in gear and hold the brakes and see if that releases it?
PTO will engage and disengage fine

Sounds like a bent clutch disc. You won't know, until you take it back apart, which sounds to me like that's what needs to be done. Rick

Did you have any trouble getting the unit aligned and the input shaft into the splines of the main drive disc? It don't take much as a person thinks to bend a disc...even with a little weight hanging on it can distort the disc, causing what you describe. Rick

I have to agree with Rick. I had this happen on a Massey Ferguson 2 stage clutch. Had to take it back apart on my dime and disc was warped. I didn’t think it went together hard but it doesn’t take much to bend it

The first time it was a pain trying to get it together as we didn't have the PTO shaft back far enough. Pulled apart, corrected that, and it went right together.
We are using guide rods so that it holds alignment.
I guess our first attempt may not have had it aligned and put pressure against the disk

Charlie...If you want to send the unit to me to repair the clutch disc/discs, just let me know and I would do that for you and the only cost there would be, would be to repair/replace the clutch discs. Rick

Did you have a line up tool when you bolted it to the flywheel?

Wrong pictures in previous post.
Could be the release bearing fork set screw loose?

Forgot to mention those pictures are from a 6080. Not sure if it is the same as a 6060.

That's the PTO lever adjustment. Foot clutch is our issue

Thanks Rick Is there a easy way to check the disk to see if it is bent? I'd hate to send it back and find out that was not it.
Need to set aside a few hours again....

We got 1300 hrs on the original clutch. Some others in this area only got less than a 1000 hours out of them, Weak design or something...
I guess practice makes perfect.

I am at 12,000 hrs on my 6060 clutch. For about 4000 of that it had a loader on it and did all the manure loading here. The best tractor we have owned!

Yeah...Charlie, if it looks like a soup bowl when you take it out (in the center where the splined hub is), then you'll know on the inside disc that it's bent. The one that lays on the flywheel can be checked by laying it on the pressure plate and checking each side. If it jumps back up at ya', then it's bent. It's pretty elementary, really. Rick

This is a early model, I wonder if anything was changed on the later ones?
Oh well...embrace the suck.
