Take off the electric pump, everything is pretty much gravity feed, only thing the hand primer pump does is help push fuel when changing filters, guess they were ok when new, but now they are just places for air leaks

thanks for the info .it all started out with running issues . in the end the return line was plugged up .took out the check valve blew out the line back to the tank tractor started right up . in the beginning thought the primer pump was bad cuz it was leaking so I put the electric one on . so now I will take it back off . also should I replace the return check valve ? will it be ok without it ?

The return check valve being plugged up is not a fault of the check valve itself, but the flex ring in the pump is breaking down and the particles are what is plugging up the return. The pump will end up needing serviced soon.

The return fitting is the inj pump failing. The losing power and dying is the first sign the flex ring has began to break down. Modern fuel seems to attack the flex ring in a much shorter time than before all the low and ultra low sulfur fuels. This is the reason I try to update the weight retainer to the EID design, that eliminates the need for the flex ring. It uses rubber bumpers that are totally enclosed, and can not come out to fail. I have seen them get a little loose when they've been run for a long time, but that wasn't the reason the pump would come in. Usually I see those come in when an engine is being rebuilt, so they want the pump and injectors freshened up too.

Does F 2 combines injector pumps have this problem or just the tractor issued pumps?

Yes, the DB2 used on the 433 engines originally used a flex ring too.
