Driving back through Havana Il. late this afternoon I seen one of these on a trailer with a 2 row corn head on it. Googled it tonight and this is what I found .

A whole lot more sophisticated than the oliver open station combine an older soybean seed dealer I worked for had . He made me ride in the bin and I had to catch the harvested soybeans in a gunny sack . Tagged each bag from each plot he had , weigh them later . If one soybean bounced out he would start screamin and yelling like he was on fire .

this thing looks pretty neat

During my career at Agriculture Canada I used (and mostly wore out)
a Kincaid (many All Crop parts on it) ,a Hege from Germany and a Wintersteiger
from Austria.
The Kincaid was pretty crude and as time went on the machines got more sophisticated.
The Massey plot combine seems to be the machine of choice here.
Long days when you harvest 20-25000 individual plots.

How do the intermission grids work if all of the samples go into the same bin ? I understand that all samples are weighed and calibrated.

Virtually all of the work I did was individually bagged for later quality analysis. Depending on the  type of experiment you might only need plot yield and bushel weight so if this combine can measure that on the go then unloading to a bulk bin is faster.
