The creative side of me has been wondering something lately. I know all 2 speed units such as the power director have direct drive, but some have under drive, and some overdrive. From what I understand the Power Director and the 2 speed used in the JD 4230 quad range, etc. are a direct/under drive unit. Which brands used an overdrive unit, other than the Whites and simliar, that had a 3 speed?
Also, I've never been into a 200, but how is the PTO powered? I assume that the shaft goes from the dry clutch, through to the power director housing. From there I kind of assumed that power goes through to the PD, but also drops down to a lower shaft prior to the PD, and that powers the PTO, otherwise your PD would affect the PTO.It's all just a matter of curiosity. Also, looking at the power director in the parts book, I can't tell, but is it a planetary gear set, similar to the JD unit?

The AC 7000 uses a 3 speed that is under, direct, and over.
PTO comes through dry clutch to reduction gears and shaft along with PD gears and shafts, then under transmission and out the back. With 2 speed PTO, the gears is in lift housing.   MACK
