I want to add a hydraulic ram assy to be able to lift and hold the L306 Woods mower deck on my CA. As I'm not at the farm at the moment, I can't check the size differences. Will a hydraulic ram off the WD45 be the same as the one on a CA? Are they the same or won't it work? ------------- "Allis-Express" 19?? WC / 1941 C / 1952 CA / 1956 WD45 / 1957 WD45 / 1958 D-17 |

| If you're talking about the hydraulic rams that attach to the rear lift arms, I believe the CA rams are slightly smaller than the WD rams. That said, if the WD ram will fit into the Woods mower lift assembly, it should still work. Just need to get the right fittings onto the hose to plug into the remote outlet. HTH. |

They do NOT interchange. The CA is shorter and fatter , whereas the WD/WD45 are longer and skinnier. even if the mounting pin would be the same the geometry for the lift would be all out of sinc. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. I may be missing something here but on my CA I just swung the right side lift cylinder forward and hooked to the mower lift linkage and was in business?? ------------- It's the color tractor my grandpa had! |

I've heard that the right side doesn't have the 'Hold' position, so it (the mower) starts to fall down, won't hold it up. So I was going to put it onto the rear outlet which I know has the 'Hold' position. Is this wrong info? Will the right side hold it in position? Thanks guys! ------------- "Allis-Express" 19?? You don't need HOLD to lift and keep the mower up. And I do believe whoever wrote what you read doesn't know how the system works. Having used a mower like that for many years, I wouldn't waste any time setting up the hydraulic lift. | The right side will hold it up. I hated the hyd lift on my CA with woods L306. You must have the blades turning to use the hydraulics. I put my cylinder back where it belongs and put a piece of pipe in its place. The mower stays in one place. My C I spent the extra money and bought the optional manual lift. With the assist spring installed my wife can lift the deck one handed. Any woods dealer should be able to order it for you it's a little expensive but well worth it. No longer have to have the blades turning to lift the mower. You know the only time you really need to lift the deck is when you just ran over something and don't want the blades turning. |

If you want the deck to go to a certain height just put some stroke rings on the cylinder rod. ------------- It's the color tractor my grandpa had! |
