I would like to start a list of all Allis Chalmers South Dakota dealers from way back in the early times. Anyone that has any dealer locations they remember feel free to chime in right down to location in the town. Thanks!

I recall Dad mentioning Sisseton, Watertown and Ortley. Don't know the names or exact locations.

Many years ago, there were dealers in Alcester, Canton, Lennox, and Sioux Falls. They were all within 25 miles and one in my hometown. Plus, a close one in Rock Valley, Ia. I also remember one in Bridgewater, Howard, and probably many more. rrhead(SD)

I went with my dad to McMean Equipment in Gregory many times as a young kid. I think they went out of business in the 60's.

Mike Klingbile last operated in Lennox. His auction was in 2005. The building was on the north end of main street. Tim Clarke last operated in Howard. His auction was in 1998. Clarke Machine occupies the building now. Wiltfang Brothers operated in Mansfield. Daryle the son of 1 of the brothers died in 2002. I don't know what happened to all the left over AC stuff after he died. I talked to him in 2001. Nothing was for sale. There was AC in Rosholt until 1986??? maybe. The name escapes me. Sheetz was down in rrhead neck of the woods. Parkston? Bridgewater? Erstad Impl. was in Bryant. I am not sure when AGCO dropped him. After 2004. Artz Equipment is in Aberdeen. They are still AGCO. I don't know how long Artz family has been in business.

The one in Rosholt was taken over by Greens Impl of Hankinson ND. They closed it up later , my guess would be early 2000s.

There were AC dealers in Mitchell, Howard, Emery, Bridgewater, Marion, Lennox, Menno, Yankton, and Springfield to name a few. Sheetz is a Case & Massey dealer, never Allis.
