none unless you have a 3pt.   6ft is the best size for a D17

There are snap couple adapters out there that would let you hook a 3 pt blower up to a WD or 45.

Mark is a friend who recently got into the AC world. He's looking for suggestions on brands/models - as well as whatever might be available in South Dakota! His D17 has a 3-pt hitch of some sort - have suggested to him that he post a picture, also. TIA.

We ran a 7 foot on our D17 with a 3 point adapter back in the 70's/80's...was too much in drifts and you had to slip the PD (hand) clutch a lot.  Works much better on my 180 now. I agree 6 foot would be just about right.  Spin the rear rims all the way in and you'll be inside the cut.  Mike

I run a 7' IH 80.  I like the 7' width as it makes turns easier.  Otherwise the outside front tire is in the snowbank on corners (assuming it's a wide front).  We get alot of snow but it is light and fluffy - your results may vary.

I use a 7' Lorenz on my D17 S1.  Have a 3 pt adapter thingy.  No problems, although according to Lorenz the D17 is too big for the blower.  I kinda scratched my heed over that one until I accidentally read the manual.  Larger tractors mean a steeper angle on the pto shaft.  So I run mine with the shoes all the way down.  No worries.  Also tried grade 2 shear bolts - too soft, need grade 5.  Accidentally found that in the manual too.
cheers,
Creek
