had a water pump pulley go bad, thanks to AJ I got one that looks like it's never been used. problem is, since my pulley was bad all my brackets for the alternator conversion were wrong!!!!!, they are welded so there ain't no adjustments!!!!! new brackets done (adjustable this time!!). new pulley on, time to give her a try. made it down the drive way and water was flying everywhere, not sure what or how, but I believe my thermostat stuck and blew the bypass hose in two? ugh. when I got the tractor there was a thermostat housing bolt broke off....fortunately the other 3 broke off as well!!! some pb blaster and a smack with a hammer and they all came out, new thermostat ordered and I'm in the process of engineering a different bypass hose using copper line. I simply refuse to pay $20. for a 4 inch piece of rubber hose...lola tip I learned from owning a dodge. rather than brake manifold bolts off in the head, grind the heads off the manifold studs/bolts and then smack them once with a hammer, like your hitting a nail. I was able to take 3/4 of the manifold bolts out by hand. the other needed a day of spraying pb blaster and a pair of vice grips. ------------- Just cause it's orange don't make it a tractor, there's only one..Allis Chalmers |

| You can do just as well to hit the head of the bolt with a hammer with the PB Blaster. It cracks the rust seal so the Blaster can get in and it also relieves the clamping force of the bolt. |

Wow, what kind of tractor is this on? Would love to see a pic of the new and the old brackets you got. Old iron is always an adventure. |

it's on a 1960 d14. old brackets are scrapped, but I'll try to get pics of the new brackets. ------------- Just cause it's orange don't make it a tractor, there's only one..Allis Chalmers |

I just did something similar last week for the bypass hose on my D-15. Used half inch copper tubing, 2 @ 90' and 1 @ 45'. Works great. Gary |
