If a guy bought a 4w-305 as a big tillage tractor could he cannabinolize a 8550 to keep it going? How did the 4w-305's hold up? Comparable to a 8760 Deere? In my heart I would like to be all orange. ------------- 8030 and 8050MFWD, 7580, 3 6080's, 160, 7060, 175, heirloom D17, Deere 8760 |

| I can't help you out too much, Victory, but I do know that the hinge components are different between the two. But I don't think that is anything you'd have to worry about on a 4W 305 anyway. Otherwise, I think drive train components are the same. I was hoping that someone who was really in the know would jump in on this thread. I still run an 8550 on my air seeder, and love it, and can't help but think that a 4W 305 would only be that much better. I'm glad to hear your heart is to run allis. As far as it goes with being as reliable as a deere, I'd say that it would be with proper upkeep. On the downside, I wasn't too impressed this spring with 9 days of down time due to a water pump going out on my 8550, but it was a learning experience. Darrel |

| Dropbox is slightly different as the hydraulic pump is in between the rear shafts on a 305 and above them on the 8550,shafts are different, hinges are different and as far as the rear end goes I "think" but not sure that where the two shafts connect to it is different between the two tractors. |
