Hey guys new to the forum and I have a 49 allis chalmers c. It's been sitting a month or 2 but seems to have leaked a little gear oil. Is this normal after sitting? Someone told me it was just from sitting I just wanna be sure. Thanks for any info

How much did it leak? If it's a few drops just make sure to keep it full and run it for a while. But if it gets worse you might have a bad seal.

Ok I believe it's just a little from sitting because we just got it running not long ago. My buddy said it was just from sitting maybe top it off along with some seal conditioner?

A lot of these have minor to major oil leaking issues. Seals, gaskets are 60+ years old in some cases, or may have been incorrectly installed last time the tractor was apart. Clean it up. find the origin of the leak and then folks on here can help you decide next steps if any. Regards, Chris

Old tractors have leaks whether they are running or sitting , it is normal for old tractors. All leaks can be fixed juts time and money.
