Auction half mile down the road has a 175 on it. In the event it goes cheap what is it? Retinned D17? Can the PTO be engaged and disengaged from the ground? Trucking shouldn't break me. Lol ------------- 8030 and 8050MFWD, 7580, 3 6080's, 160, 7060, 175, heirloom D17, Deere 8760 |

Tractor data says it's live PTO but if it's like the one-seventy you will have to depress the foot clutch to stop the transmission before engaging the PTO or else gears be a grind'n. ------------- 1957 WD45 dad's first AC 1968 one-seventy 1956 F40 Ferguson |

Early 170s were basically aD17 in new medal. The 175s had a few differences, front end and hyd pump drive, I am sure there are more but don't know them all. Still has same pto system as D17 and such, live with power director but must depress clutch to engage. ------------- 1945 C, 1949 WF and WD, 1981 185, 1982 8030, unknown D14(nonrunner) |

| Make sure it doesn't jump out of 3rd gear. PTO needs clutch to engage but power director for live power. |

PTO is much the same as D17. Another difference is the Perkins diesel engine - very reliable and efficient. Power steering is fully hydraulic, not power assisted mechanical like the D17. Early 175's had the same side hydraulic pump as the 170's....late 170's had the front hydraulic pump like the late 175's. I think the ones with the side hyd pumps were less trouble and the front end is heavier because the casting is not hollowed out. My 175D with side pump is my main tractor, no $800 front shaft and coupler to wear out. ------------- ALLIS EXPRESS! This year: |
