Chalmers HD3 Runs for about 5 Min then quits If I let it sit for a few minutes it will start Its like its using only what is in the two filter containers Gas drains fast from tank but hose after filters dribbles should it run fast after filters Put new filters in Tractor sat for a few years when I got it  Any help would be nice This tractor is new to me

Can someone tell me on the HD3 Diesel can you have a straight gas line to the injector pump reason I am asking this was not getting gas to run longer than 5 min so I took off what looks like a primer off the hose to the Filters and it would not let gas in fast . This primer does not look stock Looks like someone addid it . so now line to Filters and out to Injectors Is this OK ? Thank you

Dribbles should be enough to keep it running. Does it still quit after 5 mins even if left idling? Consider a defective coil too.

If it only trickles out the filtered side, your filters are plugged or fuel isn't getting to them fast enough. You should have a steady stream the size of a pencil running out the drain , on the bottom of your carb bowl.

I'll second CT,,,,,, maybe the hose has come apart inside and it is plugging it up. I had that happen once and it wasn't fun to find it!

most likely the return is plugging up with broken down flex ring material from inside the injection pump.

Loosen the two screws on side of pump that holders timing window to pump. With a little fuel running out, see if it runs ok. If it does, take pump off and send it to I jpumpEd. The weight retainer in pump has come apart, plugging return on pump.      MACK

We put a low pressure electric fuel pump on ours as old primer pump was missing when we got it. And we had trouble getting filters bled. Sounds like flex ring as Ed and Mack mentioned! We also had to have Ed rebuilt ours with same problem.

If you keep feeding GAS to a diesel engine, you are going to have real problems soon Wink
