A number of companies bought AC tractors to modify and resell. A couple come to mind such as Drott, and Eimco who made the  Power Horse. Who else bought Ac tractors to modify and resell and what were they used for??

Allis made tractors for United. After they closed their doors Allis kept making them and sold it as the model "U".

Steiger bought transmission and final drive components. It was either Renault or Fiat that almost bought the 7000 series to be rebadged......... I said almost though. Leroi bought engine components from Allis (Millwaukee components) and from Buda either before Allis bought Buda or after or both before and after.

Actually, I think it was Belarus, and I thought they did actually build some. Anthony on here has one as his profile pic.

There was supposed to be a few 8000 series tractors painted red to supply large tractors to massey, but the deal fell through. So, somewhere out there are orange tractors that may have some red paint under the orange. Interesting that they are all under the same umbrella now.

I remember seeing that pic of a 7030 black face and I thought it said Renault on the hood panel and lights and bars in the grill. No matter.

I can't tell if the photo was doctored by Allis as a proposal or if they actually painted a 7030 for the photo.

A little bit off from the original post, but I believe AC supplied engines (301's?) to New Idea to put into their Uni-Harversters in the late 70's.

Calvin, do you recall any of the details that Alex Lush spoke about at the A C Club of Ontario meeting? I think these tractors were shipped to England.   Ross D.

The more I think about it, the more I think Lonn is right, they were Renault. I keep thinking Belarus because it seemed they were for the Russians.
AC also supplied engines to ONAN for their gen sets for a while.

A-C shipped two 7000 tractors painted blue to Leyland in England to be sold as Leyland . The deal fell through and they were shipped back to Canada and repainted orange and were sold by Swansons Farm Equipment at Rockton Ontario. Massey Ferguson sold corn planters that were repainted A-C planters.  Lots of A-C powered Onan gensets.
The New Idea 709 Uni System used the 426 model 3750 engine. One of the ski hill groomers was A-C powered. Sold truck engines to Kenworth and Frightliner. I'm not real sure but think they sold a forage harvester to Ford. Some Ford plows were White 588's
