Hello AC lovers. My son and I are new owners of an allis chalmers wd45. We have owned it for only a couple weeks and the shift tower is not shifting the tractor. Is there any service out there that rebuilds them? Thankful for any help.

remove the shift lever by releasing the cap inside the tower , then taking long bar move shifting forks into neutral position - reinstall lever into tower .
the end of the shift lever wears and will slide between forks and out of the captive notches - can be welded up to fit better with some patience , welder and grinder ca nget it back to where it will not bypass

Thanks for the information. Sounds like I am on my own as far as repair. What is the ball supposed to look like? How big? Etc.. Like I said, I am new to the Allis family. But I am good with a welder and grinder. Again, thanks for your help.

When you get apart you will see what is worn and what needs fixing - end wears as do the slots in the forks - it's the nature of something that is over 60 years old .
I know seems some parts on self have required repair - let alone my 1955 HD5G
Also do a search on WD45 shift and will come up with info
