I know the subject is pretty broad. What would a cash price be for an AC B I am looking at? I know it is a hand crank and looked reasonably decent from the picture. Currently unsure of the serial number and year. Also it is not running at this time. Just trying to get a baseline idea for price. Currently they are asking $500. I'm pretty sure I could get a better look at it this weekend. I don't really know much more than that. Or even what to look for. Working on my D17 might have spurred the bug to grow the pumpkin patch!

If it don't run, its worth about half that much.......... Check tire condition, look at motor oil, pull the fill plug on the transmission and see whats inside..... check radiator fluid.

I had about $200 in my head as a decent price. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't too far off base. I'll see what it looks like first. From the one picture I saw of it, it looked pretty straight and original. Just not running.

Check if it has been setting inside. see if the motor will bar over ( turn)... If its not locked up, that will help get it started..... gas and spark.

not running doesn't mean that it's not capable. if it's not stuck, it's worth about $300 to 400 if the tin is straight and the rear tires aren't shot. Is it sitting outside or under a shed? If under a shed it might be better.

also.. check if mag or dist ignition..
a new (rebuilt) mag will probably cost MORE than teh complete tractor !!

From the one picture I have seen of it, it is in a shed, an open shed, but a shed none the less. I was told if was fixed up several years ago, but like everything else, that all depends on the persons definition of fixed up. I'll see about taking a better look in person Saturday.

$500. isn't out of the ball park IF the engine isn't locked up, the tires are decent, the sheet metal is all there & straight, & there are no cracks or welds. Check where the tube connects to the engine & look for breaks. Some of these little tractors were used on implements too large & it tore up the frame. That said, a "B" is a fun little tractor to play with. A friend of mine bought a non-running Massey 44 diesel at a farm auction. Went too cheap to pass up. He had 1 of his daughters with him, went to town & bought a battery & some diesel fuel. Had his daughter pull him with the pickup & the tractor started up! Still needed work but ended up being a heck of a bargain.
