| Just curious what people are using for the hydraulic/transmission fluid. This is in a 1963 D12 series II. Currently running "303" but I always think it seems like a very thin fluid. Maybe it should be. I'm running "303" because that what we used in them growing up. |

| Original specification for the CA (and I think also for D-10/12) was 20W non-detergent motor oil, which is also pretty thin (but could take a while to warm up in the winter). |

I wouldn't go any thicker, considering the same oil is used in the hydraulic system. Hi Trans is your best bet. I wouldn't use additives of any sort. |

| use lucas in final drives and transmissions wre 250 gear oil was what was to be used works great and is a additive for oil won't hurt a bit used it in thje 13 speed truck transmission it run 150 degree cooler this works |

I agreeRear Hydraulic Pump "SHARES OIL" with transmission and differential. Running any kinda gear oil or thick additives increases chances of hydraulic behaviors ..... I would use OEM recommended oil......
