My dad had some CRP ground that didn't get the contract renewed this year.  He decided he'd plant it in beans.  He hasn't done any row crop since the mid 90's so he had to buy some equipment.  I called him this morning and he was telling me about the combine he bought at a farm sale recently.  It's an F 3 Gleaner with a turbo diesel, rear wheel assist, and the hillside package on it.  It's a one owner machine that had been kept inside.  He said the cab isn't in good shape inside but it was close to home and it ran so he bought it.  He also bought the grain platform and a newer corn head for it.  I told him that if he had any questions about it I knew just the place to ask.
Later,
Brad

sounds like a cool machine! the cabs inside weren't anything pretty until just before the N series came out! (easy fix) we will enjoy pics of it here and see it in operation later!

If I can get some pics I'll put them up.  I live about an hour away from there and don't get a chance to visit much.  But there may have to be a visit arranged just for that.  Plus I need him to do some welding projects for me.  I'll keep you updated on it.
Later,
Brad

The tan interior cabs are my favorite. Make sure you put all the insulation back in it, and you will have a great machine! The general rule on those machines is keep them greased and the chains oiled, and you will be trouble free! (Except for rare instances)

Sounds like your dad made a wise purchase, not anything out there better in the class 3 market than a Gleaner F series.

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.
