i'm tired of replacing the exhaust on a standard wd-45 due to trees damaging it while mowing. Was there such a thing as a wd-45 orchard? Are there any options for a re-routed wd-45 manifold/exhaust that flows lower/ doesn't exit through the hood?

sounds like trimming the trees would be the simple solution...just saying

No such thing. You sit pretty high up, so you would be getting branches in your face too. Not to sound like a jack ass, but I would trim the trees too.

fooling with the tractor is more fun than trimming trees, and i can dodge the branches.
But anyhow, i wasn't aware of an orchard wd-45, and it sounds like I was right. Figured I'd ask.

What about a wc manifold that comes out the side. I have a Wd that has the regular muffler but it has the plate on the manifold for the little short pipe that comes out the side

An apple orchard near me had a WD-45 with these full orchard style fenders on it. That was pretty much all it had that was different. Don't know if it was an official "orchard" tractor. I know where it is sitting, rotting away. The current owner is bull-headed and won't let go of it.
------------- Pre-WW2 A-C tractors on steel wheels...because I'm too cheap to buy tires!

This is a good Idea. the WC and WD dont have the same bolt and port pattern do they? would a WC manifold fit?

Be simple to have a pipe bent to go towards the ground with a shorter muffler or just leave it as a straight pipe. Very little creativity should fix your problem.

On some tractors where they had a similar problem we got flexable exhaust pipe and piped it down the side and out the back with a muffler there if desired. Worked fine for us. Good Luck! Bill Long

I use my D-17 for mowing around a lot of "scrub" apple trees on my property and I solved the problem you're having by using scrap pipes and resonators to make this.Works well and sounds good too!

The George Nesbitt auction has a WF Orchard advertised. I got a list of items with color pictures in the mail today. I imagine the Gone Farming website probably has the pictures.
