I pulled my grandpas WC out of the weeds its been sitting for like 10 years, I got it in the barn and tried to hand started it but engine is seized up. So what can I do to get it un seized, It was converted to a 12v Its a wc but with a wd engine in it

depends on how bad the water intrusion was. you can fill the cylinders with acetone and ATF (supposedly the best mixture) and let it soak. pull the oil pan plug to see if any is going through. (past the pistons) You can try rocking the engine back and forth with a prybar in the flywheel teeth but do lightly. dont over do it. If you cant get any movement this way you will likely need to pull the head and inspect anyway as your probably looking at an overhaul. over exertion bends rods and ruins parts. Some people get lucky without pulling the head but you have no idea what your getting into if you dont.

Being it was sitting out side ,PULL the Head , head gasket set is cheap .valves will more then likely need a little work also.

As Fred said, pull the head. If the exhaust was uncovered, you will probably find the cylinder that had a valve open, full of water and rusted. Usually the piston is rusted so tight to the sleeve that both the piston and sleeve have to be replaced. Maybe you will be lucky and it will free up. I never have been that lucky!

We ran into this recently with our WC that sat outside with everything covered up. We tried soaking with every concoction imaginable. We finally pulled the head and the rust was horrendous on the cylinder walls and valve train on 2 cylinders.
We will be putting in an engine from a Gleaner E (free) as a rebuild kit is worth more than the tractor.

I worked on a WD that was seized. The problem was that dirt daubers had gotten into one of the cylinders and built a nest. I cleaned it out and put new rings in and sent it home.

I have had great luck with filling the cylinders with Brake fluid. it seems to seep around things that have been stuck for years. shackratt
