Need help. Got my 180 ready to go after fixing about everything and hooked it up to the hay mower and got a surprise
I have to force the pto to stay engaged. With engine idling and pto engaged as long as I hold the lever in it will try to push me off of it. It fills like it pulsate back and force. What do I do to fix it?

PTO linkage was junk on these tractors. As linkage got worn, would not put coupler all the way in, then started jumping out. If front of rear PTO is not worn out, weld linkage between battery box and torque like D series or 170-175. Not quite as handy but works better. If rear shaft is worn too bad, it will need replaced.     MACK

I worked on a 180 that would jump out when it got a load on it, turns out there was an ear broke off the coupler inside the Power Director that holds it all together when engaged,

You might have to pull the PTO shaft out the back of the tractor and dress up the splines on the front end to allow the shift coupler to easily slide onto the PTO shaft. Be sure to drain all the oil from transmission and hydraulics when you do this or all the oil will come out the PTO shaft hole when you move it out 2 inches.
