I may buy an early 1974 model 7060 Power Director to start this project. I know where two original high clearance parts tractors are. One is a 7045 and the other is a 7020. After looking at Parts Books a bit can I assume the the drop housings from either tractor would bolt up to the 7060? Both of the doner tractors have nice front axles and that part doesen't worry me as much. They are both half cabs which I am leaning towards too.
I am building this to use. I grow a little tobacco and need the clearance.

Shamless it's what down here is referred to as a drop housing. AGCO parts books shows it much better than I can describe it.

All of the factory High Crops I have seen are Power Shift Transmissions. But I don't think there is any reason that you couldn't use a power director tractor as long as your not worried about being factory correct.

It basically give you about another foot of clearance. I fon't have any good pictures but Google has a few. I admire the guys that can put them back looking like new but this one is for me to use so I going to do it my way. Probably paint the belly black too. I never did get the maroon/orange thing.

I am no expert on anything but I could swear someone on here owns one.
No one has shot down my plan so far so I guess that's good. Next step is to buy a running tractor and then get the high clearance parts and dive in. Should be a fun project.

Well standard means standard. I'm thinking you could order whatever, maybe. Someone here had one and they said it was factory and someone else commented that it was rare. I'm not sure if that would add much value but who knows.

I am interested in your project and would like to have one for cultivating a specialty crop. Will you have to do something to the lift arms, or is that a part from the hi crop tractor. Are the hi crop donor tractors common in your area

I am interested in you project to I have a 7060 pulling tractor and I was wondering if the high crops had a faster ring and pinion. Or some other way to speed it up. I was assuming the high crop final drive would be slower but I don't know and have not been able to find that information

As for available I know of two so far. The issue is getting a non running 12000 lb. tractor with flat tires on a trailer! AGCO Parts Books research could possibly answer your question on ratios.

if you can, take the tires off, the rims will roll easier than when the flat tires are still on.

We have both 7000 and 8000 high crops. The lift arms will reach the ground with no problem.
