I think they changed the crank shaft pulley. If I 'm right (rarely) some time in late 59 they started to put a pulley with holes in it for running a hydro pump. I have a 1960 So I'm interested to know what changes were made also. I also think that's when they started making them 12 volt negative ground.

went to 12 volt...ring gear and starter have different # of teeth(don't ask HOW I KNOW that one....) but starters WITH a band near the end are 6 volt, NO band = 12 volt.

Next question if anyone knows, was a there an operating instructions and parts illustrations manual that showed these changes. Can't find any manuals that go beyond Form TM-137C. Seems like there would be a newer manual showing at least some of the updates?

No, because there were no major changes to the tractor. These are all minor things that did not require a different manual..

If I am understanding right they made a factory 12 volt D14? I still have nightmares about stalling a d14 and hearing that six volt starter try unsuccessfully to start the engine. Nothing was worse than telling Dad I stalled it and needed a pull. Once in a while with a few prayers it would start when hot but most time not. The series II D15 on the other hand never failed me at anything. Tom

I was going by tractordata, it also said they didn't come with powersteering, but yep they did. love them 6volts, better start in the first couple rounds or your done...lol

Found this on ebay. Can't read the form number, but since I have an original white covered manual that has publication code 257969 and has the Label on the right edge reading: (Prior to Serial Number 19001), I'm thinking there was a such a manual published.

I'll be on the search for it. My Reproduction business goes online next month. So far I have the following ready, a special edition WD operator and parts illustrations manual FORM TM-9 E, a WD-45 operator and parts illustration manual FORM TM-85 D, a D-14 operator and parts illustrations manual combining all of the forms upto TM-137 C, dealers repair parts manual for wd and wd45 tractors dated 1955 and original dealers repair parts catalog for the D14 dated 1961. I also have a complete pdf version of the 2017 AGCO parts catalog (current parts numbers included) for each that will go along with the reproduction parts catalogs for free. 3/4 done with the WD and WD45, WD45 Diesel and D14 Service Manual. No funds at the moment, but I'll be searching for that late model d14 manual.

Good day - I have been following your posts about changes to 1959, 1960 D-14 tractors. I am looking for a D-14, either year, either fully restored or in good shape that I could have it restored. I have been wondering about a number of things for those 2 years. Was the D-14 decal, near the gas tank, in that location for both years? Was the grill black, with horizontal bars across it? Were both those years essentially the same? I am not sure from the posts if both years were 6 or 12 volt? I appreciate any help you might provide. Thank you Todd

Thank you so much - very helpful. Would anyone happen to know of fully restored D-14 tractors? 1959 or 1960? I have seen some beautiful tractors that others have restored. I'd love to find one. Todd
