CA clutch diagnosis.

Just put new brakes and clutch and tuneup into my "restored"CA that I bought back in February.It is becoming a money pit.

Pulls and runs the hay rakes ,runs the auger and other light jobs just fine.

Mounted the 2 bottom plow and there is no power to the wheels.Pulling loads makes something slip. Thought it was the foot clutch since the pressure plate fingers were as thin as a knife and not uniform. Guess not.

Hand clutch?It'll be a new experience rebuilding that critter.

Sounds like the hand clutch. Best diagnosis is if the hydraulics are still working when clutch is slipping then it's the hand clutch . If you're plowing in the clutch is slipping and the hydraulics don't work that would be a foot clutch.

Quite a job but not impossible. I believe there is a section on the Knowledge Base of this forum that may be very helpful

You may want to remember when we did them we had to grind 1/8" off the ears that bolt to the clutch housing.

Before you get into all that you may want to check the springs, balls, and seats.

If you need parts Sany Lake can get you what you need.

Be sure to change the seals in the transmission housing where final drives bolt on. The transmission leaking will cause the live power dry clutch to slip. Having been around CA's all my life, that live power clutch is the most frustrating thing about the CA.

This is a gorgeous little tractor with a beautiful paint job.

I want to use it for haying mostly but I still plow some small plots and would love to get this little tractor usable for that .I looked at the rebuilding video and it looks doable for the son of an Allis Chalmers service rep lol.
