The engine in a D 19 diesel is the same as a D 17 D just added the turbo, correct?
Was the head made thicker. I have heard that the D19 had the allis motor in, not the Buda
 Thanks  Mike

D-19 diesel is basically a turboed version of the D-17 Series III and IV engine.
Both are 262 cu.in. Buda design.

Technically, an Allis engine because they bought the Buda Corp in 1953, but it was a basic Buda design with Allis tweaks and changes.
