I'm putting my 226 togather, slowly/finally. I should have taken pictures but I'm a day late and a dollar short, so the question. On the bottom side, oil pump, where the supply line goes from the pump to the block. There are 2 holes next to the line (on the block). I don't remember taking anything out of those 2 holes but they are threaded which makes me go hmmmm. The look like the only time oil would pass is when the plunger is depressed enough to slide back enough to open up. Does anything go there? I have 3 manuals and non of them show/tell what they are. I have seen one pic online (here) that shows plugs in there but looking through all the parts I removed, I don't have any that fits there.
Thanks

On bypass oil system those are drain for relief valve. Can't say on full flow as I haven't seen inside one.I converted my WD45 bypass to full flow and those holes are now plugged.

Thank-you. I thought those remained open but figured better safe then not to ask. Can't wait to hear this old gal run.
