| Anyone else get blocked of the Facebook Allis auction page for dumb reasons? Phone was broke and couldn't contact buyer, had my friend take care of everything and got accused of not "resolving the issue". |

They don't take any crap from anyone any more! No different than bidding on eBay or other places. They aren't forcing us to bid! And it saves us eBay fees when selling! I've gotten a few things on there. A handful of manuals and a few parts for the WD-45. All around great guys I've worked with. I know a few are here on the boards. It does seem some things seem to run away on prices, so I leave my bid and when it's above my wallet's tolerance, I turn off the notifications to the post. If it's a shady deal, I'm sure it'll be soon out of my price range. Does anyone know what the 8000 series throttle kit sold for? |

I think the main problem is the idiots running it. Be a man and have a conversation with the people, dont just kick them off and be a chicken  and block them. That's a coward. I didn't break a single rule and got booted. Larry Wilson wouldn't even answer any message. Of course one of his trolls gave me a big bs story.

Glad you know everything about the Agco auction page. I have bought things on there also. But l have talked to way to many people, and l know who is buddies and know where people are from. And l could show you at least 50 auctions on there , where his buddy has bid on every single thing he puts for sale. I caught them in it. And the administration, does nothing about it. You can call it sour grapes if you, But when they let that go on because there all buddies it ain't right. And a lot of people are figuring it out. If l don't like a thief, I don't invite him over to steal my stuff, but it don't make him an honest guy. Yes, screen shots are very important... so when admins delete posts it is not gone. Valid point! This happens very quite frequently on the auction page, but sometimes it is just chit chat. Certain auctions chit chat is allowed, and sometimes it's not! Part of the point here, is if you ain't in buddy group, watch yourself because in the clickyou do as you damn please! Everyone needs to chill out. If you don't trust or like the FB Auction page then just don't use it.you are not forced to use it. as for the Allis Chalmers Tractors page on FB that I help Admin with Larry those rules are simple. Keep it AC related, no different brands, no publicly bad mouthing each other or vulgar language,and no behind the back crap or else you are gone. If I knew it was just a bunch of adult AC loving crazies on it cussing wouldn't be a big deal. But we are seeing more and more younger kids with interest in AC. We want to keep the Allis name alive and don't want to scare off the younger generation. We run an extremely disciplined page and because of that the page has flourished to close to 19,000 members. Nope I was born in 88 My grandpa farmed with mostly AC and the man I used to help hay in the summer as a kid has a d17 and 2 WD45s I was one of the few in my generation that grew up riding on the toolbox of a 45 ------------- 1954 CA, 1952 WD with Freeman Loader,1955 WD45, 1963 D19 Gas, 1984 620H, 1980’s AC Forklift, 66 All Crop Harvester, White Top Roto Baler, Misc S.C. All auctions on the page are not affected either. Most are fair and clean! I have had several great experiences. Crossed paths with several great people. I've spent close to a grand on there. If anything wasn't quite up and up, how would that be Ryan's or any of the other moderators fault. It's just like buying on Evilbay. How many times you suppose something you're bidding on has a shill jumping in and running up the price? So as I said earlier, if you don't like it don't use it. Just like the Cubbies. I don't like them so I don't tune in any of their games. I also don't go bashing them anywhere I get the chance to. This is not the first time for some of the guys throwing a fit on this thread, hence the sour grapes. Nobody said anybody wasn't allowed to give an opinion. I have bought items on the Facebook site. Just did the other day was a seat shock for WD 45. Also bought my 190XT series 3 Front Grill. I have been to auction's that someone just run up the bid. I just bid what I want if sells for higher, guess it was not meant to be. What I really do not like is the buyer premiums! Like Mecum's has, but if they have something I want. Just figure that end with it when bidding. |

I don't understand the upset about a buyers premium if I'm going to pay $XXXX for something why would I care how the money is split up? Also I don't care who is bidding against me or why, they can't make me pay more than I want to pay. Auctions are held for 2 reasons 1)To make the seller money 2)To make the auctioneer money. Just always keep those two things in mind and you'll be good to go at any auction whether you're at a local farm,ebay or anywhere else. I've been to thousands of auctions over the years,love 'um. |

I think a buyers premium is a cleaver strategy...most bidders will not pre-plan what their max bid should be (including the premium). It only takes a couple of bidders like this to get that extra buck in the heat of the bidding. I call it a shady practice and avoid those auctions also. Well I guess it sort of like a local case that was in the courts here years ago about a fellow that signed off on a piece of real estate and didn't realize what he was signing. Old Judge Head who was known for taking a few drinks early in the day told the fellow Well Mr X I'm going to have to rule against you since the law can only go so far in protecting a person against their own stupidity(LOL) |
