Can't remember the member who wanted to see how my great-granddad's 60A was set up, as far as the sprocket attached on the bearing hub he had welded on, but I promised some photos, so here they are. Note: These are split rims, and while they do work, I would use regular rims if I was starting from scratch like you are.
 And here is the left wheel, so you know what it looks like under the sprocket hub on the right side.  As you can see here, 4 metal tabs were welded on to the wheel hub, then a flat plate with a hole in the center welded to those. The sprocket from the original wheel bolts to that flat plate. That way when you need to pack the bearings, you just unbolt the sprocket to get to the cap on the hub, so you can take the wheel off. Works great! I'm still not sure how whoever welded those tabs on (granddad didn't have a welder) got everything lined up so perfect. I've raised the combine and spun that wheel, and it is perfectly in the center of that hub. No wobble at all. I was surprised.  And here is how the new hub is welded on to the old axle.  A little trivia that I don't know the answer to....what vehicle did these wheels come off of? They have hub cap clips on them and the wide 5 bolt pattern, so I thought they were 1939 Ford car hubs. But....they're split rims, and I didn't know Ford used those. |

when my Grandad ordered his 60,, he ordered it with Timken bearings,, said he wasn't gonna deal with wheel bushings ... oh yea,, its still has the spoke wheels, I haven't checked the SN, but should be around '49, got it the same time as the WD and planter,,and IIRC all was right around $3200.00 |

Neat! Didn't know you could order them with bearings. I always thought the last year for the spokes was around 1939/40. I always thought it was weird how the WC's had bearing front spoked wheels, and the combine spoked wheels had bushings. Also...the 1936-39 Ford style wheel fits the bill for the left wheel (the rims on each side are actually slightly different) but I can't find any on the internet that are split rims like these. Yet another mystery on this combine Lol
