It has had a slight miss for a while, but last night while planting around the farm, things got bad. So bad, that I was thinking I might be walking back to the house. I did get back and I wandered about the fuel filters. Changed them out, one at a time, and WOW! It acts brand new! Again. Who would have thunk it?

...so is that "change as needed" or regular scheduled maintainence?

I guess changed as needed. LOL I really didn't feel to proud of myself when it was restarted after the second filter (water separator)was replaced. It must be plugged up tight. I need to do better.

Same thing happened to my 8070 this spring chisel plowing. I'm thinking it was poor fuel cause the filters only had about a hundred hours on them. Both combines acted up last fall too and I know the filter on the L3 was changed recently.

Stay away from biodiesel and all your fuel system will thank you.

Have run bio diesel since it came out 11% blend, have never had any issues. I guess l am lucky. My 305 died the other day going thru the field.    completely out of fuel !!!! Filled all 3 filters pumped the hand pump, started on a quarter turn. That is Luck. By the way, my fuel gauge isn't working 😀

Water will clog a filter. So will algae. My experience is that algae grows in bio diesel much faster than it grows in regular diesel. Once you get that stuff in your storage tank you'll pay 7734 to get it out. Algaecides will kill it, but they won't remove the dead plants.
