I am not a tire expert so bare with me. We have an International 510 drill (sorry) that has 3 different tire specs in the manual. 1 of them is a 7.50x20 truck tire. Ours has truck tires but they are 8.25x20. Will this difference in numbers effect the popualtion settings ? Thanks

Aren't the seed cups driven from the packer wheels? On the JD the tires just hold up the planter and are used to lift the opener disks out of the ground. The drive chains run back to the packer wheels. If I rember correctly a 8.25 in a couple inches taller than a 7.50 that's about 10 inches differant in circumference. That's almost 10% difference.

7.50-20 are 37.7" tall and 8.25-20s are 39.3" tall so the short answer is yes but I doubt it would be enough to know. The 7.50 is 551 revolutions per mile and the 8.25 is 529 revolutions per mile. If you could figure how many seeds it drops in one revolution you could adjust accordingly if you want to pin point the population.

Thanks guys , and Dakota, the drives on this unit are from the end wheels via a clutch mechanism like a JD 7000 planter.
