A neighbor down the road has had this disk sitting along the side of the road for over a year, today I stopped to look and take pictures - didn't talk to him. I've got some questions ... Can anyone tell me the model? Looks to be 12' wide - I need something to go behind my dualled WD45. http://s526.photobucket.com/user/szalmyr/media/DSC04569_zps3dlmfzlj.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Looks like it might have originally been a snap coupler, but the hitch looks pretty strong. http://s526.photobucket.com/user/szalmyr/media/DSC04570_zpsqmrbubkv.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Is this the high pressure/low volume cylinder that is needed for the WD45? http://s526.photobucket.com/user/szalmyr/media/DSC04573_zpsjeqdustt.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Any idea what this piece does? Looks like it's been broken for quite some time. http://s526.photobucket.com/user/szalmyr/media/DSC04574_zpsbjjzx8ep.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Blades all look good but don't know anything about the bearings. What do you think it is worth?

Probably a 212 disc. It was a SC with traction booster hitch. The broken piece is a transport lock. That was a high pressure one way cylinder. They are good cutting disc. That one looks to have a few blades loose or broken, may a spool or two damaged.HTH Tracy

Tracy has it right!
bearings are available for $300 each or you can rebuild them. Could be aload for a 45 depending on how deep you can sink it in. I have a 10' and usually the wd45 with M$W's pulled it fine in 3rd. Once after plowing I used 2nd because it was pulling pretty hard.
You don't really need the lock unless you're using traction boost. THe idea was that when driving down the road you were always lifting up on the snap coupler, so you set the lock and let the hydraulics down. Mine was broke too and a good welder fixed it.

The blades could be dull, otherwise you'll be giving a '45 all it could do to pull that, especially in soft or plowed ground.

Why does the transport lock break?
I was told that when a two way cylinder is used that the down pressure would break the lock. All of the disc's I have seen with broken locks had two way cylinders on them so I assumed this was true. Now the disc pictured above has a broken lock but has a one way cylinder. What gives?
------------- Thanks & God Bless

You could convert the hitch back to the snap coupler traction booster hitch. The WD-45 would have lots of traction then. I have the other part.

Duals make big difference. Dad had a 13.5 Ft with snap couple and duals on fresh plowed ground in 2nd cornstalks in 3rd.

There is also this chisel plow at the same place. Can anyone tell what kind it is? http://s526.photobucket.com/user/szalmyr/media/DSC04575_zpscowsfcjr.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

Dad bought a 13'6" disk similar to that but it had fold up wings on it. It was all the D17 wanted with duals on. That is a nice looking disk for its age.

Just a wild guess but could be a Graham plow.
