this motor came from a allis chalmers fork lift we are parting out and there is no tags any where on it can someone help me...i keep coming up with buda 262g iam not sure and want to sell it......

They put alot of 230's in forktrucks witch look very much like the 262.

Jim,put this on farm equip. site they can tell were to get your info. My bet is it's a 230 wich is a good engine, don't throw it away.

this is out of a fork lift not from far equipment..i do not plan on throwing it away i want to put it on e-bay and sell it....it was a good lift..there is no I.d to tell me what the lift was other than the A in the center of the hub

I said that because the farm guys could tell you just by looking at it. There were combines that had 230's and 262's. Awhile back I was looking at engine remans for fork trucks they listed 230,s still available I don't remember seeing 262's. Just punch in fork truck engines on internet. BTW there is a couple guys that have put them in wd's.

Hi. I worked at AC from 1977-1986, and I saw not too many engines made at the old Buda plant. They were using continental Engines except for Lift trucks that were made made for Ford motor Co. They insisted on us using their engines, I hope that helpsd you

That engine would be pre 1977 most likely mid to late 60's

The engine is either a Buda 230 or 262. I don't know of a way to externally tell the difference if the ID plate is missing.

i don't even know were to look for the plate..the motor had to be painted atleast 5 times...we pressure washed it and the yellow had blue paint under it and the blue had white under it..iam stuck i been doing research for weeks on line and have had no headway other than this forum
