The two tires on the left side are STUDDED tires!!  They've been illegal here in WI for EONS!!  These are OLD tires, but good.  The BAD news,,,,,they are all 14". Cry

We've got several old gravity wagons on running gears like that at the farm. 14" tires too. I don't know what are they are though.

Electric Wheel Co. made wagons that were sold under many brand different names.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Heider running gears used a pipe or round tong.  Probably made by electric Wheal in Quincy, Il.  Look for a tag on real axle, or at lease see if the ribits remain where one once was.

If it's David-Bradley,-- they have a tag on the rear center of axle thanks; ac fleet

I have a Sears Roebuck running gear. It's different and it has 16" rims just like the old WW2 Jeeps and big centers. My sears has a metal nameplate on the back.

 Howdy Ted,
Sure looks like a Knowles. My dad had several of them and all had 14 rims. Use to put my tires from my GTO on them.

Look at the back side of the hubs. "Electric Wheel Co." will be cast into them, or "EWC" also.

Pre-WW2 A-C tractors on steel wheels...because I'm too cheap to buy tires!

I found a tag on the back end, almost centered and it said it's a Knowles!!  You win and thanks!!  The tag was painted over and I don't want to scrape it any further.  I'm gonna try and use something to take the old paint off without hurting the tag.

A small tire shop owner told me back in about 2000 he could be a millionaire if he had a source for used 14" tires. His shop was in a college town and students constantly wanting something to put on their older cars.

Now if you could just find used 6 or 8 ply 14" tires. Grandpa always put old car tires on them. It worked fine for ear corn, which is what I remember, but when they hauled shelled corn they always blew tires even when they only loaded about 100bu per wagon.
