HI i have a 57 d17 diesel, works great accept i cant get the 3 pt to lower, a local guy suggested cleaning the screen or rebuilding the valve, was hoping to here if this was a common issue and likely fixes or at the very least, where the hydraulic screen is located.

New member here long time lurker a lot of great information here. I have a 1959 D17 gas that has done the same thing. Is there an adjustment on the hydro pump? The traction booster lever is down as well as the lift lever. Any ideas? Thanks

The next time you're going to use it for a while, put a qt. of enamel thinner in the system Don't worry about it being in there too long, because it will evaporate out before very long. It cuts the varnish and dirt. You need to change the filter.

There is a small pin in hold poison valve that pushes a ball off it's seat to lower. Some times the pin brakes so nothing to unseat
ball. Pump has to be removed
to repair. MACK
