My father inlaw had an allis stored in his garage for 27 years. It looks very old. He has passed and now i am trying to find out what it actually is.  I found 2 sets of numbers on the tractor.  On the right side of motor it is  U 3019 40     on the left side on plate it looks like  D 349117PA  anyone have an idea what year this would be.  ??  Thank you

My source says the s/n is on the rear differential near the PTO.

U 3019 40 is a WD engine casting number perhaps a 1953 model.  Would need a serial number from the tractor to be sure.

forgot i had this one on my phone. Hope this helps somewhat. All the metal shrouds are solid, just in another location in the garage

With that engine casting number and from your picture it is a WD for sure.  Without the tractor serial number we can't know the year for sure.  They were made from 1948 to 1953.

Can't see the gearshift lever. It has the tall head and battery ignition.

ok thank you. I will get that this weekend if i can locate it.  second question is, are these still tractors people are looking for to bring back to life ?  My mother in law is 71 years old and has no use for it. I live in the city so nothing i could do with it other than get it to someone who would be interested in it. My job is to get the garage and property cleaned up to sell.  there is also a old metal plow that i would think attatches to this. But has been in the elements for the same amount of years.  The motor on the tractor has gone tight sitting in the garage.  Any idea of a dollar amount that this would be worth ?  we are more trying to just get it off the property to open up space to get at everything else we need to get at..  will try to get that serial number this weekend.

Looks like it has the WD 45 style governor housing and distributor.

Had an offer of 250 already. Don't even know year yet. Is that a decent offer ?

Looks like a $500 unit to me,  is it narrow front? Do you have the loader and bucket? Non running will cut price way down but I understand your situation.

No bucket that I know of. Will have to look. Several implements in back yard

Looks like it has a side plate on the block. If it is a side plate that would make it a WD 201 block.

I would be interested. Where exactly are you located? Thanks. Don Jr.

If the rear rims are good and the left tire is as good as the right one there is about
$500 in value right there.

Was just informed there is a bucket and the arms in the back of garage. Now I'm rethinking this offer.

The loader frame and at least one of the hydraulic cylinders is attached to the tractor.

One the cylinders is on the loader frame in the picture

You'll have to post the pics of what other attachments might be out back...Yes, 250 would be on the low side for all of it. 500 give or take would be closer to fair depending on what other attachments there maybe, though most buyers probably would not be interested in acquiring all of it. Also, the price of scrap as been low and the antique tractor market is currently on the soft side for the more common stuff.

To give a bit of a reference to pricing, I just bought this non-running but complete wd45 with extras for $400:

Don't know if the motor is seized or not, doesn't matter, I bought it for the wheel weights. When they are in this state, they are generally too far gone for anyone to consider fixing up again, because restoration costs would easily far exceed market value, even when you can get the tractor for free.

will be getting more photos on Saturday. Going to get the tractor free of all the stuff that has been stored around it for 27+ years. will also get pics of whats out back . sounds like a springtooth, plow, hay mower, and bucket from what she said is buried out back.

If I wasn't sure of the value I wouldn't except any offers till ya check with the folks on here.  there's gonna be folks who just want to take advantage of you.  As stated above $500 just in tires.

I live North of Wisconsin Dells and just purchased a old partially restored Allis last weekend and it looks very similar - I would be interested in picking this up from you.  I need rear tires and interested in a couple of the implements too.

I have 2 buckets and a push blade - certainly willing to part with one.  Email or text me if anyone wants one.

Bucket and brackets are $300, that's what I paid some 5 years ago.
As for the tractor, anybody's guess. I've paid $300 to 600 for a WD, and $1000 for a runner with a bucket that had a bent cyl.

my guess, you've got $500 to $800 there in loader and tractor. Not to mention implements. 3pt hitch makes it more.

Based on the serial numbers on block and by shifter - can anyone tell me the age?

Posted By: DrAllis
Date Posted: 15 Sep 2021 at 10:22am

Based on the curved gearshift, it is either a later 1952 WD or as new as a 1957 WD-45. The serial number for the chassis is directly above the left side square headed bolt just above the rockshaft on the rear face of the rear end housing. It is stamped and will say WD XXXXXX. The number you have provided is a raised "casting" number and really means nothing to me. The serial number for the engine is also stamped and is directly behind the hose that runs from the air cleaner to the carburetor. It will say W-xxxxxx for a WD engine or 45-xxxxxx for a WD-45 engine.

The posts were from April of 2017 so I assume the tractor is long gone.  He last was on the forum April 4, 2017.  Must have found a home for the tractor.

Tall head on a WD makes it a 1951 or newer if original.

The Block serial is WD 35448 4PA  The 4PA is raised slightly from the others

So, it's a late 1952 or up to mid 1953 WD. It is not a WD-45 unless you give me the chassis S/N.

I can barely see some of the serial number on the rear differential exactly where it was described to be, but there is too much paint to make it out.  Any thoughts on best way to remove the paint without messing it up too much?

If anyone has a lead on some rear tires, I am need of 2 decent tires and I think I have 2 salvageable rims... but I'll have to see when I change them.  I have a spare rim that is good with another bad tire on it.   I have an extra bucket if someone needs one.

If the manufactured year of the rear is that important to you and have any access to a black light, wipe clean the area good with alcohol. The uncleaned depths in the stamping will become visible with the UV bulb in a very dark setting. Please remember that motor swaps were very common due to interchangeability for these tractors. End of the day— curved shifter indicates late wd though 45 time period trans. Tall head and no engine plate, most likely a 226, can be checked with wire in spark plug hole for stroke verification..
