Yes but.... usually people end up putting a WD engine in a '45. WD engines are more plentiful. |

The 226 (WD45) has got to be a more plentiful engine than the 201 (WD). The 226 was in the WD45, D17, 170, 175? E gleaner. They will fit in a WD. The 226 did receive some upgrades to the oil system and compression ratio changes as they got newer. They made over 178,000 WC tractors and over 146,000 WD tractors. That's a lot of 201 engines AND the D17 226 on up is not a direct bolt in like a WD45 226 is. So there are way more 201 direct bolt in engines to be had in my opinion and probably more 201 engines even if you include the D17, 170 and 175 tractors.
