My 6140 will be mowing again this year, and last year I noticed how the PTO clutch lever was grinding as I engaged it with any implement attached.

The disconnect lever above the PTO engage lever pulls back but does not help at all.

Time for a new cable? The cable looks intact and has no play in it.

Something else I should be doing? Thanks for any advice!

FWIW, the linkage was frozen into the transmission and not moving at all. I sprayed lubricant and got it to move a bit with with the PTO clutch handle, but engaging the PTO still results in the PTO grinding as it engages. Ideas?

What happens if you shut the tractor down then engage the PTO?
