| Can someone tell me if the key-way in the axle on an 8030 is tapered or square? I have a set of Unverferth Wedge-Lok Hubs for my 220, and wanted to use them on the 8050. Unverferth said they don't show ever having the wedges for the 8050, and that I could buy the wedges for an 8030 and machine the integral key to fit my 8050. The 3 3/4" axle on the 8050 has a tapered key-way 11/16" wide top and 9/16" wide bottom around 5/16" deep. The wedges I received for an 8030 had a square cut integral key over 1" wide around 1/4" deep. Machinist thought if he cut the key down square it would be OK, but he could taper it if needed. That's why I want to know how the key-way is cut on an 8030 axle. Thanks. |
