Hey I've got a 47 c model with a Marvel Schelber carb and I'm getting fuel in the air cleaner bowl. It also leaks fuel between the carb and the air cleaner. Is it a float issue in the carb.? And would a simple clean out or adjust of the carb fix the issue?

odds are REAL good the needle valve is NOT closing off, so the carb 'floods'. My D-14 does it....my other D-14 does it...my other ,other D-14 doesn't !
You're best to pull carb off, clean real good, do it again 2-3 times. Also remove gas line, spray brake cleaner(carb cleaner) in it to remove any varnish buildup. It's that crud that can gum up the needle valve/seat area of the carb. Fresh gas from a sweaky celan tank 'melts' the varnish on the inside of the gas line and it gets into the carb...

Shutting off the gas when the engine is not running is your best bet if and when you can get around to fixing the issue.

if I don't shut gas off on my WD,I'm pulling hose off and draining gas to get it started.
